Zox Corsa R Full Face Helmet Review

Zox is a brand of helmet that you may not necessarily see out there too commonly. As such, we had neglected to do a review on any of their helmets thus far - until now.
During a fine afternoon at a pristine out-of-town race track we rented some race gear. We expected to receive the not-so-new types of gear that you get when you rent nearly anything. When I first saw the staff bringing out the Zox helmets I thought that our heads were in for a hot, noise, uncomfortable day - I was greatly mistaken.
style
The Corsa R is not a fashionable item by any means. With one design and a total of nine color schemes (including the matte finishes) - there is not much choice in terms of looks.
The helmet does have a basic shell so no negative points there but nothing to applaud either.
features
The lining fabric is made of a material that absorbs and wicks away moisture. The inner lining can be completely removed and washed.
The venting on the Corsa is superb! During a hot sun-filled afternoon my head was as cool as cucumber. The only problem - adjusting the vents. Either open or closed - and to adjust this while riding is near impossible. The tiny nibs of plastic that open and close the vents are so clumsy you cannot tell whether or not you are opening or closing the tabs unless you are paying attention to the airflow. The venting system does have two exhaust holes to ensure a smooth constant airflow.
safety
The Corsa is DOT and Snell certified. As the choice of the prominent race track rental shop I rented from - I'm certain the safety standards of this helmet meets their satisfaction levels as well.
quality
Here is where this helmet shines (especially if you get the gloss finish - joke). As mentioned earlier, I thought I was in for an uncomfortable day in terms of helmet wear - throughout the entire race day (about 4 hours of actual riding) my head felt great! The Corsa feels super comfortable. It feels like pillows are surrounding your head. The helmet liner is definitely well made.
The visor was very easy to flip up and down and the locking mechanism is solid.
show me the money
The Corsa retails for USD $129.99.
overall
The Corsa is an excellent helmet for the track and the street. For a style and feature perspective it is seriously lacking. However, if you do not care what your helmet looks like and enjoy a simplistic type of helmet - we highly recommend the Corsa R.
