FieldSheer Eiffel 2 Tank Bag Review

I have been on a search for the perfect tank bag for several months and have finally found the tank bag that is as versatile as my types of riding - FieldSheer's Eiffel 2.
The FieldSheer Eiffel 2 tank bag allows you to create numerous luggage combinations to suit whatever requirements you can throw at it. Searching for a tank bag that can fit a full-faced helmet is a bit tricky, but it sure makes it easy to narrow down the number of options.
style
With color choices of black and -black, the Eiffel 2 does not offer customization in style. The design of the bag is simple without flairs or fashionable contours. It looks sharp but will not show it's age as fads come and go.
features
Here is where the Eiffel 2 shines brightest. This bag has several forms a magnet pad, and two bags, one expandable, that stack on top of each other which can be combined or used separately. The base bag is large enough to fit a full-faced helmet inside which is quite handy at times. The Base bag also has two side panel compartments and one rear compartment that are convenient to store a pair of gloves, water bottles, a can of chain lube, etc. One thing to note about the size, make sure you can see your instrument cluster when both bags are attached as the two bags attached together can be quite tall (the bag is called "Eiffel" for a reason). The bags measure as follows:
- Base Bag: Length 18", Width 16", Normal Height 8.5"
- Top Bag: Length 15", Width 10.5", Normal Height 4.5" Expanded 6.5"
The pad and both bags have a large clear cover map sleeve which is very easy to slide larger maps into without them bunching up.
The map case mounts onto the gas tank and grips the four corners with eight high powered magnetic flaps. Either or both bags can be connected via zippers on the sides.
The bag comes with a rain cover to protect your stuff wet from getting wet. If it begins to rain, I highly suggest putting the cover on as the zippers are not water-proof. I was caught in a several hour ride in the rain without the rain cover and although my clothes inside the bag were not soaked, they were damp. Carrying the bag when it is off the bike is easy with the full grip carry handle and shoulder strap loops on both bags. Both bags have a cord grommet for headphones or other wires.
safety
The bag is easy to see in the dark as Phoslite® reflective piping is on the front and sides of the bags. The magnets are very powerful and will ensure the bags stay put.
quality
The pack is made from 1680 denier ballistic nylon. The zippers are very large and can handle a bit of a stretch. The magnets are extremely strong and once in place are not moving anywhere.
show me the money
The pack has a MSRP of $149.99.
overall
The Eiffel 2 is the perfect tank bag for the 'everything' rider. Whether you are going on a quick trip and want to use the expandable bag, picking up a friend and need a way to carry your passenger helmet, or going on a week long tour and need all the cargo space you can get - this is the tank bag for you. If you need more carrying capacity then you better take the car instead. There is a lot of bag here - so if you are looking for a small tank bag to put your wallet, cell phone, and a bottle of water in you may not need all that the Eiffel 2 has to offer and would be better off with something smaller. If you want a tank bag that you can convert from a simple map case, to a day-trip bag, to a cargo carrying behemoth I highly recommend the Eiffel 2.
